Lake Retreat​
Located in Dayang Bunting Lake, Langkawi Island, the double storey timber house provides adequate privacy yet open enough for the family to enjoy outdoor spaces. The design adopted the natural water flowing from the hill and stored in the pond for sanitary usage and watering the plants as one of the sustainable steps.
The clients’ natural behaviour of being environmentalist inspired the design of the house to be near to the nature. The open dining area provides excellent enjoyment of good food and good surrounding. The clients’ new retreat home is designed based on the minimal primary geometry fulfilling the function of the area and surrounded by greenary.
Island Retreat
This retreat house opens up to views of beautiful open sea and tropical forest from the facades of the building. It takes a modernist sensibility towards the manipulation of volumes and it gives it a distinctly space expression. This building is made of timber clading and concrete to blend with the naturalenvironment as well as to achieve its functionality.
Solitary Pod
​
It is mirror chamber inspired by the confusing mood and based on the idea of labyrinth. Using radial organization, the pathway looked if they are rotating due to the dynamic forms. Transformation took place with the angled and tilted walls potentially creating interesting reflection inside the chamber.
The patrons are required to be flexible and blend with the structure in order enter the chamber.
